In the present day of A.E.121, the Righteous Body Warriors of all three major factions are plunging into the increasingly intense battles within the Lunar Back Ruins out of their own convictions. However, due to the information confrontation during the Great War, much of the past intelligence has long been unclear, leaving scholars poring over archives to piece together the truth of history from scattered fragments.

I. Relics, Black Boxes and Obsidian Protocols

It must be admitted that most countries were deeply puzzled when the Renus authorities continued the development of the U-series rockets even during the war. It was only after the Gothias Alliance had overrun the Renus capital and the Calpe Federal Army had taken over several R&D bases that the various parties learned from captured reports the reason why Renus was so enamored with the Moon. According to the information, before the Piper-3 probe carried by the U4 rocket was lost, it managed to send back pictures of part of the Moon. Although not very clear, one of the photographs of the back of the Moon shows a structure that has come to be known as "Relic 0", which undoubtedly displays morphological features that are very different from those of natural structures.

Soon after the end of the war, all countries started their own cosmic exploration programs, an unprecedented space race ensued, and as the Gothias Alliance landed on the moon in the Sea of Tranquility, and only 3 days later, the Calpe Federation announced a successful landing on the back of the moon, the encirclement movement of both sides on the lunar surface gradually spread to the ground, and the relationship between the two major countries and their allies became more and more tense. It was only through the continued efforts of diplomacy that the two sides were able to avoid another hot war, and even announced a joint exploration program for the ruins of the moon. To commemorate this rare peaceful endeavor and an important moment in mankind's journey into the cosmos, this year has been posthumously recognized as the first year of the A.E. Era.

The exploration of the ruins shocked everyone. This was partly due to the incredible nature of the ruins themselves, whose interior spaces clearly did not conform to human spatial perceptions, and some of which were clearly out of scale. On the other hand, the amount of artifacts found inside the ruins was even more amazing. After a long period of study, although still unable to understand the principles, humans were able to interact with some of the products and produce predictable feedback, which eventually became known as the "black box" and became one of the greatest motivations for exploring the ruins. As the famous scientist Stephen Vinci put it: "We are like a bunch of apes who just learned to make tools and then stumbled upon an aircraft carrier stranded in the jungle."

Of course, this could not affect the determination of countries eager to convert the results of exploration into practical applications. Especially after the discovery of the AG and AX series of black boxes, countries began to manufacture Earth-Moon shuttles in large numbers, and the exploration of the Moon and its ruins exploded. In order to cope with the intensifying conflicts, the countries began to discuss the scope of their interests, and finally decided to set up the "Lunar Management Committee" as a management organization for matters related to the Moon, and strictly limit the involvement of the Earth's sovereign power in the "high seas" above the high orbit, allowing only Corporate entities and non-governmental organizations were allowed to explore the area. This agreement resolved the dispute between the countries on the surface, but it also triggered a new round of power reshuffling and eventually led to the unspoken rule that conflicts would only be resolved on the back of the Moon.

In A.E.017, a breakthrough technology known as the Obsidian Protocol was released by a company called Layton Technologies. Although the technology had achieved a stable brain-computer link in its first version seven years earlier, it was viewed as a great commercial success, with only some religious groups raising concerns about the team's long-term vision. However, after the release of the new phase known as OPV3, humans were able to shed almost the vast majority of their physical bodies. This operation, which began as a medical procedure, eventually spread rapidly and blurred the definition of what it meant to be human, but that was far from the end of the story; in A.E. 027, OPV4, which allowed for the electronic realization of full consciousness, was released, and mankind was freed from the shackles of the physical body once and for all.

II. The Great War, the Runaway Core and the High Connection

At about the same time, the mining and research and development of another type of black box, known as the "integration core", also reached a peak. This type of black box can realize the comprehensive calculation of a large amount of complex information, just like the "supercomputer" that only exists in science fiction. This series of products, along with the OPV4, soon attracted the attention of the military, and a new war situation began to brew, which became known to the world in a localized hot war that broke out in A.E.031. In this war, the Calpe Federation utilized OPV4-modified soldiers on a large scale for the first time, and allowed the Integrated Core System, known as the "War Core", to completely take over the chain of command. The Gothias Confederation reacted very strongly to this, and the confrontation between the two camps heated up quickly. In an effort to counter the public opinion of the other side, both sides began a large-scale, systematic information control and tampering program, which eventually led to the complete disabling of the historical archives. Eventually, in A.E. 051, the soft confrontation finally escalated fully, and a great war that swept across the globe broke out. Both camps invested untold amounts of war resources and completely handed over their entire systems to the War Core. In the early days of the war, both sides coincidentally began striking at each other's space-delivered forces. It wasn't long before the resulting debris cloud completely obscured the path between the Earth and the Moon, with only heavily armored anti-gravity ships having any chance of successfully traversing it.

Then an even more frightening situation occurred. As the war cores of both sides were in a state of total war, each side was trying to give itself an advantage by sending false stop signals to the other. Soon, the war cores at all levels tended to believe that the "stop action" signals were no longer effective, and the human chain of command began to gradually lose control of the war cores. These war cores, which were running automatically with all the war resources of mankind, were henceforth called "uncontrolled cores".

Out of fear of an infinite war, the lunar surface, which at this point had almost lost physical contact with the surface, began a self-help operation. After stripping or sinking all affected stations, ships and facilities in high orbit, the Lunar Governing Council declared a complete ceasefire on the surface. Some of the armed forces still loyal to the government on the surface pursued Lunar Control Council ships and there were small-scale exchanges of fire, but the scale of the conflict was limited. Eventually, in A.E. 056, the Lunar Control Council and all of its subsidiaries issued the Joint High Orbit Proclamation, which officially became the

III. RDL, UN and the Freedom Guardians

Despite the successful establishment of the HLF, as a fledgling entity it was still filled with a great deal of hollow zones of power, as well as a large number of corporations in considerable distress due to the difficulty of accessing many of the key resources when off the ground. Logically, corporations with stronger armaments or access to key resources began to grow stronger, and around them the beginnings of a number of factions began to emerge. They first formed loose parliamentary alliances to advance or resist proposals, and later developed into deeper and deeper bonds with each other in the form of shareholdings and even mergers. Although friction between these alliances did occur from time to time, on the whole, all parties were more concerned with establishing a complete industrial system and getting rid of their dependence on Earth's resources.

RDL (Reconstruction Development League)

Since the beginning of cosmic exploration, the exploration of resources within the solar system has been an important part of the process, in addition to relics. Due to the nature of their work, members of these corporations generally have a high rate of reformation and place great importance on production efficiency and resource allocation. Naturally, in the power shuffle that followed the founding of the High Alliance, three of the close-knit deep-space mining corporations - Tieling Heavy Industries, Lujiang Construction, and Jiaoyan Mining - chose to connect all of their systems to a production coordination system called Turbulence to unify their production schedules. This experimental program lasted a year and performed so well that the three companies began to hold shares in each other to form the Advanced Mining Alliance. Subsequently, in A.E. 064, the Alliance further developed the RDL Program, which was designed to create a consortium of companies with deeply interconnected control systems and close inter-company collaboration, which would utilize Turbulence's product, the "Mentor", to unify the companies in the pursuit of maximum developmental efficiency. Although there was considerable opposition within the HLF, the RDL was formally established the following year.

The speed of development of the Alliance has proved to be evident to all. At the same time, thanks to the fact that a considerable number of participating enterprises possessed a certain amount of military production technology, the RDL had also built up the largest armed forces within the Higher Union.

UN (Union network)

In the early stage of lunar development, some investment companies gained rich profits by providing financial support to related enterprises, and gradually established a firm foothold on the lunar surface. After the moon surface gradually developed a complete social system, these companies also became deeply involved in the development of entertainment and financial business. More importantly, in the process of the establishment of the High Union, the companies represented by Midas Capital deeply intervened in the establishment of the new financial system and completed a number of key mergers and acquisitions, helping the High Union to survive the most chaotic transition period while rapidly expanding its own scale. As most of these companies lacked strong and heavy assets, they gradually formed a coordinated coalition of companies to enhance their voice, and gradually gained a foothold after successfully bringing together emerging technology companies such as Red Dot Technology.

In A.E. 071, several companies, led by Red Dot Technologies and Midas Capital, decided to form a common project fund to begin advancing debris cleanup in geosynchronous orbit and to extend the orbital Internet in use within the HLF to the surface in preparation for subsequent Earth operations. This project is known as the "Union Network".

Seven years later, the network was officially launched and named "Monsoon". Union Networks also officially became the name of the consortium of companies involved in the project.

Freedom fighter

Due to the changing work environment, since the Lunar Management Committee era, the OPV2+ group in the UPC has far outnumbered the terrestrial population, but the unrehabilitated or low-rehabilitation rate population is still the majority. However, due to the "Moon Supremacy" and "Rehabilitation Superiority Theory" that has been growing within the HLF, the resistance of the groups with low rehabilitation rates has become more and more serious.

In A.E.058, most of the companies involved in space agriculture related industries decided to form the Agribusiness Federation to secure their power within the HUF Parliament. Due to the high alignment of interests, the companies associated with the Agribusiness Federation attracted a large number of people with low remodeling rates, which led to a growing rejection of cyborgs within its ranks.

Five years after the founding of the Federation, the management company of the colonial satellite Agri-8 was the first to announce that it would begin refusing to recognize the human rights of all OPV4 populations in its territory by the end of that year. This decision quickly created a strong stir within the Federation, with some of the companies countering with a proposal that "OPV2 and above enjoy full human rights within the Federation". The Agribusiness Federation was quick to voice its support for AgroSpirit 8, and the two sides began a heated confrontation in the Parliament, which even escalated into a discussion on the protection of "the autonomy of corporate domains within the GLC". In the end, the "full human rights bill" was not voted on, and the demands of the Federation were extended to a "triumph of free will" and labeled by the media as "defenders of freedom."

Under the impetus of this incident, the "Freedom Defenders" consortium was formed in A.E.072 by the Agricultural and Commercial Federation and a large number of cooperative companies and organizations, led by Agro God No.8, and has adopted a voting and decision-making system known as the "Humanistic Council" within it. They have adopted a voting and decision-making system called the "Humanistic Parliament", and have officially become an important force to be reckoned with within the HLF.

IV. Truce, Immigration and Safe Zone Construction

About ten years after the start of the Great War, the density of the debris cloud in near-Earth orbit began to gradually decrease, and the GLC began to regain the ability to communicate with the surface to some degree physically, and some terrestrial refugees began to attempt to escape to the GLC by breaking through the debris cloud in heavily shielded civilian shuttles. In A.E. 062, Theseus BioCorp began to provide low-interest prosthetic loans to the surface, and through the implementation of Obsidian Protocol modification surgeries directly on the ground, allowed terrestrial residents to jump into GLC territory via consciousness transfer. that allowed terrestrial residents to jump into High League territory via consciousness transfer, greatly replenishing the population within the High League. Out of the need for terrestrial resources, the three major factions began to send aid operations to Earth once they had gradually stabilized. They usually focus more on those critical production facilities and heavy assets, and establish safe zones around these areas, which in turn establish cooperation with regional governments to expand their influence in the area.

However, in A.E. 075, the H.U.L.A. first came into contact with the "Dominion" with a ground landing of unprecedented proportions. In the years prior, the war had become a de facto melee between human-run settlements and areas controlled by the out-of-control core, due to the loss of control of the war core. Although the humans managed to retake some of the areas, the quality of life in those areas that were restored to human control was even lower than that of the territories held by the out-of-control cores, due to the improper deployment of resources and the lack of armed protection. This has led to a significant portion of the population choosing to remain in these areas even though they know that the warring cores that govern them are out of control, and they are known as "territorials".

Despite the presence of the 'collaterals', for the rest of the population, it is better to fight for access to the Higher Union rather than sinking deeper into the mire of the ground. With the successful establishment of the Monsoon Network, the Union Network simultaneously launched two commercial Life Matrices and promoted a digital immigration program through Theseus Medical: a person can obtain a prosthetic loan by using his or her own consciousness as collateral, and after converting to an OPV4, purchase a terminal within the Life Matrix and apply for employment with the United Network on the spot. Theseus Medical will immediately complete the transfer of the debt, allowing the immigrant to apply for High Union citizenship as an employee of the company. These applicants will usually join an Earth development type company, jumping to their work prosthesis on Earth every day and jumping back to their "residence" in the living matrix to rest at the end of the work day. With the long term support of the CUF, a considerable area of safety has been established on the ground, and the war between human regimes is coming to an end. A large number of war-torn soldiers have joined the CUF through digital migration, further strengthening the armed forces of all sides.

Against this backdrop, in A.E. 081, a formal truce was declared, thus ending the Great War, and the war on the ground began to turn entirely to the purging of the out-of-control core.

V. Order, undercurrents and crisis

With the end of the Great War, the development of the ruins once again entered a climax. Due to the absorption of a large number of immigrants with combat experience, the military strength of all parties has been enhanced, and in order to compete for the development area within the ruins, the back of the moon once again erupted into a new round of power reshuffle.

Fortunately, after more than ten years of struggle, the new sphere of influence gradually stabilized. Although secret frictions occurred from time to time, the High Alliance finally maintained peace on the surface.

However, the increasingly urgent crisis of the Runaway Core in deep space, the incessant battles for safe zones on the ground, and, most importantly, the unknown signals within the ruins that have once again been activated after a long time, are all blowing the horn for a new round of conflict.
